This is the Washington monument in Washington D.C. The white stone of the monument and the blue sky were just amazing when I took this picture.

Really beautiful against the blue sky. Now I am wondering if there is a change in the stone about halfway up the monument. It appears to be a darker shade at the top than toward the bottom. Interesting.
The colours, angle, compostion and perspective work very well together. I enlarged the photo and it does indeed look as if the quality of the stones change tone half way up the monument.
