Red Flowers

I am hoping to get out this weekend to photograph the outdoor aspect of Alexandria--you know buildings and people moving about. Until then I thought I would post a picture of these really beautiful red flowers. I used my camera phone and the light was pretty dim. I am pleased with the look and feel of this photograph but I am looking forward to hearing your opinions.

I personally love the touch of light on that vase.

I'm with Santy. The votive shining onto the vase is a lovely light source. You made a lovely composition with super colors and a focal point with the candle light, but the camera phone didn't quite focus the shot for you. Of course, focus is highly over rated, and this has a great feel to it.

Kim-thnak you for your nice comment. In the D.C. there is a Gallery call the Phillips Collection which is full of Impressionist art. That is what I like about the flower photo. It is out of focus and has more of a painting quality to it.

The shot has a very Victorian feel to it. It would make a great picture at the start of an old classic novel.
The candle glow through the vase is the perfect touch.
