Spring Is Officially Here

I am posting another picture of flowers to celebrate the official arrival of spring. Of course this does not take the threat of snow away but we are putting some distance into the likelihood that it will snow. Enough talk of snow!!! Anyways happy spring to everyone!!!

Red Flowers

I am hoping to get out this weekend to photograph the outdoor aspect of Alexandria--you know buildings and people moving about. Until then I thought I would post a picture of these really beautiful red flowers. I used my camera phone and the light was pretty dim. I am pleased with the look and feel of this photograph but I am looking forward to hearing your opinions.

Hilton Sunset

That big building is the Hilton hotel in Mark Center Alexandria, wow--that was a mouth full!! I got home from work the other day and this is what I saw. A beautiful sunset so I pulled out the camera phone and grabbed a slice of time.

Side View Mirror Sunset

I was driving home and the beautiful sunset was to my back. I thought what a great way to get a picture--use the side view mirror. I did, and this was what I got, pretty cool for using a camera phone while driving down the highway!!!!

Eamonn's PX

The blue light is on and that non-discript red door with the slot is the entrance to Eamonn's PX or Speakeasy. The PX is an upscale lounge that serves high end drinks that aren't very common these days. This is not a typical bar that would serve martinis and beer. I really enjoy the idea that this lounge/bar is using secrecy to get the word out!!!

Old or New?

Sepia tone is a wonderful thing. This picture was actually taken on Christmas day with my Blackjack camera phone. I received a book for Christmas on using your camera phone for photography so it inspired me to go out and try some of the things that were mentioned.
